While Donald Trump’s former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski, now employed as a political commentator for CNN, doesn’t work for the GOP presidential candidate anymore, he still believes in standing up for the guy.
And that was exactly what he did on CNN on Wednesday, when Lewandowski took a stand against President Barack Obama’s attacks on Trump, arguing that it was not befitting “the decorum of the presidency of the United States.”
But when co-host Angela Rye fired back by noting that Trump technically started the feud between him and the president years ago by demanding that Obama show his birth certificate and his college transcripts, Lewandowski quickly interjected.
“Did he ever release his transcripts from Harvard?” he asked. “I’m just asking. You raised the issue. Did he ever release his transcripts or his admission to Harvard University? You raised the issue, so just ‘yes’ or ‘no.’”
Rather than respond truthfully by stating that no, Obama never released his transcripts, Rye acted like a sexist pig and replied, “I’m going to Beyoncé you — boy, bye.”
She added, “You just so out of line right now … tell your candidate to release his tax returns.”
Why should Trump be forced to release his tax returns if Obama never had to showcase his college transcripts?
Moreover, how in the world was Lewandowski out of line? Rye and other liberals like her act as if President Obama is a messiah who must never be scolded or criticized, despite his litany of mistakes and missteps.
Trump’s former campaign manager actually made some legitimate points, the best one being that the president ought to keep his nose out of this election and focus on, as an example, defeating the Islamic State group.
