When President Barack Obama announced that the United States would be accepting refugees from countries that have been ravaged by the Islamic State group, conservatives protested and warned that terrorists could use it as a way into the country.
In true form, progressives attacked us over our concerns, calling us heartless, racist xenophobes who were only protesting out of our prejudice against Muslims.
A recent report from CNN, however, has revealed that we were right all along, as Islamic State group fighters have been disguising themselves as refugees to enter other countries and commit terrorist attacks.
“ISIS can be among the illegal immigrants on the boats. They travel with their families, without weapons as normal illegal immigrants. They will wear American dress and have English language papers so they cause no suspicion,” Ismail al-Shukri, a commander within the Libyan Immigration Police, explained.
CNN senior international correspondent Nick Paton Walsh accompanied police near Tripoli to a warehouse raid and spoke to people who reported that the Islamic State group had hidden fighters among groups of migrants bound for Europe.
“The threat is real,” according to top Libyan immigration officials, and one smuggler in the area confirmed our worst nightmares to the CNN reporter.
Members of the Islamic State group have traveled frequently from Libya to European ports via ferries, according to the smuggler.
When asked how the smugglers feel about moving these vile terrorists towards Europe, he replied that “only money matters.”
