If you want to bury a story in the news, release the story on Friday evening while most people are thinking about anything but current events so it gets lost in the abyss of weekend coverage.
Presumptive Democrat presidential nominee Hillary Clinton released her running-mate choice, Sen. Tim Kaine of Virginia, on Twitter Friday at around 8 p.m.
Clinton’s lack of compassion and judgment was on display again when she decided to announce her vice-presidential pick the same day of the terrorist attack in Munich, Germany. You may recall that GOP nominee Donald Trump delayed his announcement by a day following the Nice attack.
Not only did Clinton use the weekend to bury the story, but she also released her pick amid coverage of a horrific shooting sure to dominate media coverage.
When speaking of her choice, Clinton said, “Tim is a lifelong fighter for progressive causes and one of the most qualified vice presidential candidates in our nation’s history.”
It’s pretty clear by now that Clinton’s idea of what makes someone qualified is very different from that of the rest of us.
Kaine was also a pretty safe choice and, the consensus seems to be so far, a pretty boring pick. It had been widely reported that Clinton would pick Kaine and a major reason behind it appeared to be garnering some of his support in the battleground state of Virginia.
It’s also a clearly a pandering pick that attempts to pick up some of the “white male” vote from Trump — the type of pick that Democrats would lambaste Republicans for.
Maybe that’s why Clinton wanted to bury the story, as it certainly doesn’t fit with the Democrats’ bogus narrative that they’re the party of “diversity.” Then again, Kaine reportedly speaks Spanish, so maybe that ticks the right boxes?
Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus said of the pick: “After spending last week pandering to grassroots Democrats with Bernie Sanders, Hillary Clinton has chosen someone who holds positions that she’s spent the entire primary trying to get to the left of.”
As Priebus pointed out very succinctly, it’s was obvious as ever that Clinton will say and do whatever it takes to get elected — no matter how vile it may be.
She stands for nothing but power and money. What she’s willing to do to get it is extraordinarily dangerous for the future of this country.
