When Trump announced his travel ban, many opposed it, including judges out of Hawaii, Maryland, and others, but one just got some news that could ruin his career!
Judge Theodore Chuang of Maryland halted Trump’s executive order that banned travel for individuals from six Muslim-majority countries. However, now his impartiality is being questioned. Why? Because he worked as DHS deputy general counsel in Obama’s administration during 2009 to 2014, via Breitbart.
This is a legal action under U.S. Code Title 28, Part I, Chapter 21, Section 455 (a), titled: “Disqualified of justice, judge, or magistrate judge,” and it reads as follows, “Any justice, judge, or magistrate judge of the United States shall disqualify himself in any proceeding in which his impartiality might reasonably be questioned.”
It should be the obvious choice for Judge Chuang to remove himself from the case of International Refugee Assistance Project (IRAP) v. Trump because of his time spent working for Obama’s administration in the Department of Homeland Security.
This judge is clearly appointed by Obama, a poor excuse of a president who worked non-stop to bring in unvetted refugees and illegal immigrants into this country, despite the hesitancy of the American people. How could he be expected to come to a decision impartially?
He most likely won’t because Obama only hired people who were like-minded and upheld his same liberal values. A judge who worked with Obama, and most likely shared his views on refugees, should be the last person to rule over this case.
This is a question of upholding the law as well as a question of ethics. This is not the first judge, but the second nominated by Obama who has issued blockades against Donald Trump and his executive orders for a travel ban.
Many are questioning Chuang’s ability to remain impartial on this case and rule accordingly, and it’s not hard to wonder why. Chuang’s ruling will most likely just be a continuation of his loyal service to the left, and he will rule however the corrupt Democrats want him to.
He was one of the many who blocked Congress and its investigation into the attacks on Benghazi, a blight on American history that still has more questions than answers. Chuang has no moral compass and no principles, and he should be removed from his position in this case!
If the Democrats have shown us anything, it is that they are easily corrupted and seemingly unable to stay on the straight and narrow. Too many times the liberals have proven that they cannot be trusted, and Chuang should not even be given the benefit of the doubt.
This is a double standard that is commonplace with the Democrats, and it’s dangerous. If there is a single place where partisanship in politics should have no place, it is our court of law. As Supreme Court nominee Judge Neil Gorsuch would say: judges are not “politicians in robes,” and rulings need to be based on the LAW, not personal opinions or preferences.
