Veteran shock jock, Howard Stern is not willing to be used by the mainstream media.
The media has been circling the wagons for Stern to release tapes of past interviews with Donald Trump.
Trump, on several occasions, was a guest on Stern’s show, and anyone who has ever listened to the show knows it’s hardly PG rated.
With sexual allegations being thrown at Trump weeks before the election, the pressure has been on Stern to replay tapes from past interviews that would continue to paint Trump in a bad light.
“Why don’t I play all the tapes? I have to tell you why: I feel Donald Trump did the show in an effort to be entertaining and have fun with us and I feel like it would be a betrayal to any of our guests if I sat there and played them now where people are attacking him,” Stern said on his SiriusXM broadcast, according to Billboard.
Stern seems to be baffled by all the talk surrounding his show, but assured his audience that there’s “nothing to find.”
“I wasn’t imagining that I would be in the middle of this election and literally so prominently mentioned,” Stern said.
“Quite frankly, as someone just said, I’m surprised they didn’t find these earlier … There’s nothing to find. As the guy said, they were right there in the open.”
Stern also mentioned that he had talked to Trump in private at the beginning of his campaign, according to Billboard.
“I said, ‘why are you doing this?’” Stern said he asked Trump at the time. “Why would a guy with billions of dollars [run for president]?… Don’t you know what they’re gonna do to you? Don’t you know they’re gonna open up everything?”
