Several influential people have endorsed Donald Trump for the presidency, and even more will undoubtedly be pouring in over the next few months leading up to the November general election.
One of the most recent endorsements for the billionaire real estate mogul turned candidate came from a double amputee veteran who had an epic reason behind his support for the presumptive GOP nominee.
Brian Mast, an Army veteran who sacrificed both of his legs during his service in Afghanistan, announced his endorsement of Trump on June 8, calling the GOP establishment “vermin” and Trump the “exterminator.”
Mast has also thrown his hat into the political ring, running for Congress in Florida’s 18th Congressional District.
“As the next Congressman from Florida’s 18th District, I am proud to support and endorse Donald Trump for President of the United States,” the veteran announced. “I unanimously and wholeheartedly give my support to the next President of the United States, Donald J. Trump.”
Although there were things about the presumptive GOP presidential nominee that Mast didn’t exactly agree with, he said believed that Trump was the man who could get the job done.
“With anybody, you take the good with the bad. There’s things that I hate about him and there’s things that I love about him,” Mast said, expressing the sentiments of many Republicans and conservatives across the country.
Calling the current leaders in Washington “rats and rodents,” Mast compared Trump to the “exterminator” you call to get rid of the vermin.
“You know, if you have an infestation of rats and rodents in your home and you need to call the exterminator, you don’t necessarily care about the personality of the exterminator,” he said. “You just care that he gets rid of infestation.”
The retired staff sergeant and Harvard graduate said he stood with his district and others in Florida in welcoming the GOP candidate to the Sunshine State.
During his campaign, Mast has heard voters talk about the same issues that Trump talks about, the combat veteran told Breitbart News.
The congressional candidate believed that the determination he developed during combat would help him work with the next president and Congress in getting things done.
He has definitely proved that he’s someone we can trust. Hopefully, he, along with other conservative candidates, will make it to Washington and fix the disaster that has been the Obama presidency.
