Dem. Lawmakers Take Trump’s Inauguration Boycott One Step Further, Call For Impeachment Before He’s Even Sworn In

As Trump’s inauguration nears, more and more Democrats, especially lawmakers, are threatening to boycott the inauguration. This is not totally surprising, especially when considering the strong backlash against Trump’s election, pointing to a number of excuses to try to discredit Trump’s legitimacy as president. The left has pulled out every stop in the book, from pushing for recounts to the most recent and prominent allegation of Russian interference with the 2016 presidential election.

One liberal lawmaker has just taken this rejection of Trump’s legitimacy as president to the next level. Rep. Maxine Waters just brought up the idea of impeaching Trump on Monday, before he has even taken office.

Although this idea may sound somewhat outlandish, it could very easily gain steam and be the next logical step for the some 53 Democratic lawmakers who have already pledged to boycott Trump’s inauguration on Jan. 20th.

This movement was really kickstarted by Rep. John Lewis who pushed hard against Trump’s legitimacy and adding fuel to the fire by alleging Russian hacking to help Trump secure his position in the White House.

In an interview with MSNBC Rep. Waters called for Trump’s impeachment to be brought into question if there was evidence of Russia and Trump working together to help Trump win the election.

“If we discover that Donald Trump or his advocates played a role in helping to devise strategy, if they are the ones who came up with ‘Crooked Hillary,’ if they are the ones who came up with ‘she’s ill,’ ‘something’s wrong with her energy,’ and the way that he basically described her in the campaign, I think that is something that would put the question squarely on the table whether or not he should be impeached,” exclaimed Waters.

Chris Matthews, host of MSNBC’s “Hardball,” asked Waters if it was possible for Trump to have already been taken actions worthy of impeachment before he has actually been sworn into office.

Waters responded by saying that there should be more investigations into these allegations and Trump’s election.

“Well I think at the point that investigations discover and can confirm and document any of that they had a role in helping to strategize, they had a role in attempting to determine the outcome that in many ways they used the information that they got from DNC when they hacked into our e-mails, etc., if that was used against Hillary Clinton in some ways, yes, I think that’s impeachable,” answered Waters.

This type of behavior and rejection of an incoming Republican president is not uncharacteristic of both Waters and Lewis. Back in 2000, both Waters and Lewis questioned the legality of the election and boycotted president George W. Bush’s inauguration.

On Tuesday, Trump called out Lewis for his preemptive attack and subsequent boycott of former President George W. Bush’s inauguration on Twitter. He specifically exposed Lewis’ lies that he told on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” claiming that he has never missed an inauguration.

This is the type of circus act that we have come to expect from so many politicians in our country and it’s one of the biggest reasons why Trump won the election. Americans are sick and tired of political tricks to push some scheme or agenda. Hate him or love him, at least with Trump, you know what you’re going to get.

Please share this story on Facebook if you this call for Trump’s inauguration is outlandish.
