During the early days of President Trump’s term, Caitlyn Jenner–formally gold medalist Bruce Jenner–supported our president. Now that we are half a year in, it looks like Jenner might be changing her mind.
Jenner released a Tweet after Trump’s decision to ban transgender people from the military. The tweet read, “There are 15,000 patriotic transgender Americans in the US mill fighting for all of us. What happened to your promise to fight for them?” Of course, Trump never stated that he hates gay or transgender people, nor does his decision infer that.
There are real reasons why this must happen. The problem with the Democrats is that they put feelings before facts, regardless of what is right or healthy for society as a whole.
Consider the cost imposition of transgender soldiers. If we’re forced to pay for sex changes, which cost more than $100,000 PER PERSON, according to TIME, we will need to account for the cost by cutting some of our military programs. That is unacceptable. Our armed forces need every dollar that they can get.
Besides money, we have to consider the impact of catering to transgender people who, in reality, have an emotional condition. Dr. Paul R. McHugh, former Psychiatrist-in-chief for Johns Hopkins Hospital, and currently a Distinguished Service Professor of Psychiatry, states that Transgenderism is technically a mental illness.
Individuals cannot join the military if they suffer from a mental illness. Period. It doesn’t matter what kind it is–if they are diagnosed with any kind of mental illness, they are out.
Based on their logic of the transgender argument, Leftists must also believe that the military is “discriminating” against all people who are deemed “unqualified” due to mental illness, right? They MUST be evil!
The mainstream media is playing it up. There are Senators and Congressmen on TV saying that NOT letting transgender people serve puts our country in more dangerous. It’s a senseless argument. Again, by that logic, excluding anyone makes our country a more dangerous place!
Perhaps one of the most chilling parts of ALLOWING transgender people in the military is the result it could have on the field. These people are perceived as ALREADY emotionally unstable, with a suicide rate of 60 percent post-op and 52 present pre-op.
How can we expect people who are borderline suicidal and emotionally unstable to support their fellow soldiers in high-stress situations? Now THAT is dangerous. If they snap, they could be risking the lives of soldiers fighting for our freedoms.
