After what looked like a positive meeting with President Trump, Mexican leaders went home and decided to send a threat our way instead of keeping the peace.
A just released report from Nasdaq stated that Mexican officials are refusing to accept unilateral immigration proposals and if they are not rescinded, Mexico will go to the United Nations to fight Trump’s policies.
And here I thought some common sense had seeped its way into President Nieto’s head, but apparently I was wrong.
Mexico seems to think they have something of a say in OUR immigration policies, but they are sadly mistaken.
And if they think running to the United Nations is going to help, they are making yet another mistake.
Trump has already expressed his concerns about the UN, and regardless of what they say, we are in no way beholden to their demands.
Israel has already defied the UN over its Palestinian decree, and a similar move by the United States would be yet another black eye for the failing organization.
Keep in mind all this is happening while the United States is threatening to pull the bulk of its funding from the United Nations, as current estimates have the U.S. putting up about 75 percent of the overall budget for the United Nations.
Oddly enough, however, this is much ado about nothing. Trump is merely looking to enforce existing laws and get rid of illegals who are here already, committing crimes and sucking the life out of our entitlement programs. Nobody in this country has a problem with legal immigrants, so Mexico does not have a leg to stand on in this argument.
If the Mexican president fears Trump is picking on ONLY Mexican immigrants, that is so far from the truth it is not even funny.
Our laws address immigration issues for people from any country, but it just so happens Mexico is on our southern border and pouring illegals into our country like an overflowing tub!
Threaten us all you want, President Nieto, but we all know how this ends.
