Trump’s team just announced the topic of his first executive order, and Barack Obama is definitely not going to like it!
President-Elect Trump is already moving ahead with plans to pen an executive order that will start the unraveling of Obamacare — on his first day in the Oval Office. Republicans in the House are also in the midst of drafting an Obamacare repeal bill which they will place on the Resolute Desk for Donald Trump’s signature by February 20, the Hill reports.
Incoming House Budget Committee Chair and Tennessee Representative Diane Black and Oklahoma Representative Markwayne Mullin established the February 20 Obamacare repeal bill deadline. The pair of representatives announced their plans after meeting with Vice President-Elect Mike Pence yesterday.
Neither Donald Trump nor Mike Pence have stated any of the specifics related to the first executive action of the 45th president’s administration. Trump has already vowed to rip up all the nonsense executive orders of the Obama administration quickly after taking the oath of office.
“It will be an orderly transition to something better…using executive authority to ensure it’s an orderly transition,” Pence told the press on Wednesday. “We’re working now on a series of executive orders that will enable that orderly transition to take place even as Congress appropriately debates alternatives to and replacements for Obamacare.”
President-Elect Trump will not be wasting time schmoozing after being sworn in. According to incoming White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer, Donald Trump views the hours after the inauguration ceremony as “day one” of his presidency.
“He is prepared and ready to go. As he’s said before, he wants to enact real change on day one. That will mean within hours of being sworn in,” Spicer said. “He put his team on notice that he expects nothing less than everyone getting right to work for the American people.”
Liberal lawmakers, led by Chuck Schumer, held an extremely lengthy press conference yesterday detailing how they will fight diligently against the repeal of the un-Affordable Care Act. Schumer essentially dared Trump and the Republican majority to repeal Obama’s signature piece of legislation.
While the robust posturing was entertaining to watch, there is really nothing Democrats can do to prevent the repeal of Obamacare. They simply do not have the votes – unless they get some Republicans like Lindsey Graham, John McCain, or Jeff Flake to defect to their side.
Chuck Schumer and his delusional liberal pals spent about an hour fear-mongering on national television. The career politician elites seem to actually believe Obamacare is affordable. Millions of middle class and small business-owning Americans no longer have insurance because the $1,000+ premiums and $12,500 deductible Bronze Plan policies are not affordable.
And no, Mr. Schumer and Nancy Pelosi, we did not get to keep our doctors. In many cases, local hospitals are in network, but the physicians and operators of necessary technical equipment are not.
Go President Trump! Repeal, replace, or better yet, just get the federal government the hell out of our health care and let the free market take care of the insurance issue by allowing the industry to actually compete for customers nationwide.
